VISITA DOMICILIAR AO PACIENTE COM HANSENÍASE NAS PRÁTICAS DE SAÚDE COLETIVA II: RELATO DE EXPERIÊNCIA

Abstract
This work aims to describe the home visit made to a leprosy patient by students of the 5th semester of the Nursing course of the State University of Bahia, Campus VII, Senhor do Bonfim, in the practices of Collective Health II. In this visit, an interview was conducted based on information previously collected in the patient's medical records, as well as the execution of his complete physical examination, using the Simplified Neurological Assessment Form. Afterwards, the observed nursing problems were listed and the care plan was elaborated, to be presented, in class, as a case study. The study showed that patients with leprosy present difficulties in understanding and accepting the disease, in addition to the psychosocial consequences acquired after diagnosis, resulting from the stigma and prejudice still existing. This makes correct treatment and healing difficult and, concomitantly, there may be social disintegration. As an inference, it was found that the nurse, due to his more intimate and direct character with the patients, needs a systematic training, ethically and politically prepared, in order to provide adequate and holistic assistance to the public in question. It is understood that the home visit contributes to a wider professional training and stimulates the construction of critical-reflective thinking of the students, being of paramount importance for the implementation of professional practice.
